Fleurs en Ville is now enrolling gardeners in our 2006 autumn gardening
workshops.  Come visit us on historic Ile St.-Louis in the heart of Paris for
one of our fun and informative workshops.  Learn our techniques for
maximizing the color and impact of your small-space garden.

  • The Smaller Garden. Terrace, deck, veranda or just a window ledge,
today's scaled-down garden is a comfortable and intimate part of our
living space.  We learn how to transform it into a lush and colorful
    paradise all year.

  • Choosing and Using Colors.  We work with the color wheel to find
harmonies and contrasts, set a mood and make a statement with
flowers and foliage.  We look at the tried-and-true combinations that
always impress, and how to create your own original color palette.

  • Plants and Containers.  We identify the easiest and most successful
plants available for the season, and offer growing tips for those other
tempting "prima donnas" that we just have to have.  How to choose the
right containers for the look you want.

  • Automatic Watering.  It's easy to install, saves water and improves
your plants' performance many times over hand-watering.  We
assemble our own watering system...and even program the computer.

  • Formal and Informal: The "French Touch." We look at some design
techniques from the classic French garden that will lift your own
    garden to the next level..

You will take away with you your Fleurs en Ville Garden Workbook with color
wheel, photos, plant combinations, and space to add your own photos and
planting notes.

The workshops are conducted in English or in French.

Fees:  The fee for each workshop is 60 euros per person, payable with your
enrollment.

Where:   We meet in our historic 1647 building on Ile St.-Louis, Paris,
France.  Designed by Louis Le Vau, the Sun King's architect for the Château
de Versailles, the building retains both of its original courtyards and carved
stone decoration.  It is noted by
Eyewitness Guide Paris as "one of the
island's most beautiful houses ... a fine garden where it has retained its
original classical blind arcades."  We adjourn to our lushly planted private
courtyard for a break with refreshments and pastries.

Contact us to book your course now.  We look forward to meeting you!
